Amid an intensifying boycott against Kellogg's, two Portland dessert hotspots have whipped out branded snacks that celebrate the cereal powerhouse. Voodoo Doughnuts and Salt & Straw, local darlings of the sweet tooth scene, have unveiled Kellogg's-inspired confections – much to the chagrin of TikTok activists calling for a Kellogg's cold shoulder.

Earlier this month, Voodoo Doughnuts rolled out its "Go-Tarts," a frosted nod to Kellogg's Pop-Tarts. Not to be outdone, Salt & Straw churned back into action with its "Snap 'N Crackle Marshmallow Treats Ice Cream," in a statement obtained by KOIN.

According to KOIN, Voodoo introduced its toaster pastry doppelganger on the 4th of March, while Salt & Straw's creamy concoction made its return on March 28 after being off the menu for three years. The firms' embrace of Kellogg’s theme might seem ill-timed given the social media-fueled opposition to the brand.

The boycott was triggered when Pilnick suggested, "The cereal category has always been quite affordable and it tends to be a great destination when consumers are under pressure," as per KOIN. This remark didn't sit well with many, igniting backlash and calls for boycotting Kellogg’s products. Despite this, the two dessert chains have forged ahead with promotions that tip their hats to Kellogg's pantry staples.
