San Antonio residents should keep their umbrellas close as forecasters predict a series of cloudy days ahead with potential for thunderstorms and rain.
Today's weather, as reported by the National Weather Service, brings cloudy skies with a high of 83 degrees accompanied by south winds blowing at 9 to 11 mph, gusting to 18 mph. There's a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms creeping in after 4 a.m. accompanied by patchy fog, setting a damp backdrop to an otherwise dark and quiet night, with temperatures dropping to around 68 degrees.
According to information obtained from KSAT, tomorrow might not be as pleasant, with thunderstorms forecasted and a high of a cooler 78 degrees. The likelihood for thunderstorms intensifies on Saturday with a 60 percent chance, along with a predicted high of 67 degrees, suggesting a wet weekend ahead.
Those hoping for relief from the rain might have to hold out a little longer; the National Weather Service further warns of a continued 50 percent chance of showers and potentially severe thunderstorms on Friday. Leading into Friday night, the possibility of precipitation drops slightly to a 30 percent chance before 1 a.m., while the low temperature hovers around 62 degrees.
The rest of the weekend doesn't offer much of a reprieve. Saturday night forecasts show showers and possibly a thunderstorm are likely, maintaining a 70 percent chance, as reported by the National Weather Service. Sunday also comes with a 70 percent likelihood of showers and perhaps another thunderstorm before 1 p.m., before briefly calming into a chance of subsequent showers and storms later in the day.
For the working week ahead, San Antonians can expect mostly cloudy skies continuing into Monday and Tuesday, with high temperatures dropping to the mid-60s. The clouds linger through Wednesday, although no significant precipitation is mentioned in either NWS's or KSAT's forecasts.
Despite the overcast week ahead, temperatures remain relatively mild, avoiding any extreme cold snaps or intense heat waves, offering San Antonio some consistency amidst the expected showers.
