San Bernardino County Museum Celebrates 50th Anniversary with "Holding History" Exhibit in RedlandsSource: San Bernardino County

Mark your calendars for a blast from the past as the San Bernardino County Museum gears up to celebrate its golden jubilee in Redlands with a special exhibit titled "Holding History: 50 Years in Redlands." The exhibit, set to open on May 19, dives into a half-century of the museum's journey and the local tales it preserves. A night to remember, the annual Bucky Ball Gala on May 18, will offer an exclusive sneak peek of the exhibit, according to the San Bernardino County.

Over the years, faithful patrons and newcomers alike have been drawn to SBCM's unique blend of cultural and natural history. Stepping into its 50th year at its Redlands location, the museum remains a fixture in nurturing community bonds and a prime destination for explorers of all ages, as described by   San Bernardino County. Visitors can expect exhibits that spur conversations about our collective yesterdays and tomorrows.

"This exhibit is not only a look at the last 50 years but also aims to set our sights on the future. What can we learn from our predecessors? Where can we adapt? Where have we transformed and pioneered change, not only here but across the nation? Ultimately, we want to hear from our community and elevate the voices of residents," the museum's Chief Deputy and Curator of Anthropology, Tamara Serrao-Leiva, told the publication.

Located at 2024 Orange Tree Lane, the SBCM welcomes visitors Tuesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a general admission fee structure catering to a diverse audience, as per San Bernardino County. Free parking and accessibility options ensure that everyone can join in the festivities and look back on 50 remarkable years of community service and learning at the San Bernardino County Museum.
