
Search efforts have taken a somber turn on Surfside Beach as local authorities, along with Texas Equusearch and the Coast Guard, were forced to switch from rescue to recovery mode in the search for a 17-year-old boy who disappeared while swimming over the weekend, as reported by FOX 26 Houston.
The teen was reported missing around 4:45 p.m. Saturday near Surfside Beach in Brazoria County, and despite intense search efforts that lasted into the early hours of Sunday, he has yet to be found, since then, the operation has drawn on resources including helicopters, boats and even equine search teams in a desperate attempt to locate the young man.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the missing swimmer or provided a detailed description to the public, the search carried out by both local and federal teams highlights the relentless pursuit under even the most distressing of circumstances, still, hope diminishes as time moves on without a sign of the teen.
