On Monday, advanced technology in the form of towed side-scan sonar was deployed by the Chester Bureau of Fire and Pennsylvania State Police, providing detailed underwater images of the creek's banks and bed. The efforts, however, did not result in locating Brooker "This now gives us the ability to almost see underwater in a way we weren't able to before," Fire Commissioner John-Paul Shirley explained in a statement obtained by CBS News.
The next steps in the search strategy will include the use of scent canines to scour the area. Chester authorities have highlighted the creek's potentially treacherous conditions following such storms, noting depths reaching up to 30 feet in certain parts, as mentioned by Shirley. Ongoing efforts have been marked by a solemn undercurrent, as the family grapples with the anniversary of Brooker's sister's passing, which occurred five years ago on the same date. "She loved to dance. She was one of a kind and she will truly be missed in my heart," a family member described to 6abc.
