Seattle residents are bracing for a spell of typical Pacific Northwest weather as forecasters predict a string of rainy days ahead. According to NWS Seattle, there's a 40 percent chance of showers later today, mainly after 11 am, with skies turning partly sunny and highs nudging up to around 56 degrees.
Tonight's not looking much drier, with showers likely and overcast skies as temperatures are set to bottom out around 47 degrees. The wind, starting from the south at a mild six mph, is expected to slow down, becoming light and variable post-midnight. Weathermen are pegging the odds of precipitation at 60 percent, with "new precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible."
As we head into Friday, showers seem all but certain. "Showers likely, mainly after 11 am," says NWS Seattle, with a 70 percent chance of rain. While we won't see much wind—with speeds light and variable turning north at about six mph—the rain should be persistent, though not torrentially so, with similar minor accumulation as the night before.
Those planning outdoor weekend activities should prepare to quickly adapt their plans, as Saturday continues the wet trend with a 70 percent chance of showers and expected highs of 52 degrees. The west southwest wind will be blowing soft at around six mph. NWS Seattle foresees "new precipitation amounts between a quarter and half an inch possible," making it one of the potentially wettest days of the week.
