Sugar Land Man Charged With Online Solicitation of a Minor, Drug Possession in The Woodlands StingSource: Montgomery County Police Official Website

A Sugar Land man was hit with multiple felony charges after cops say he drove out with the goal of meeting up with a minor for sex in The Woodlands area. Max Lambert, 62, was slapped with online solicitation of a minor and possession of a controlled substance charges Friday after he was caught by the Montgomery County Constable’s detectives. Lambert allegedly made the hour-long drive from his home to The Woodlands for a rendezvous with what he thought was a 14-year-old, according to FOX 26 Houston.

The investigation leading up to an arrest began in February when Lambert started his solicitous communications. Upon his arrival, officials say, he was taken into custody by law enforcement officers waiting at a pre-arranged spot. This sting operation was part of a larger initiative by Precinct 3 Constable Ryan Gable’s Human Trafficking Unit. Lambert was reportedly found in possession of methamphetamine and an injectable drug commonly used to enhance sexual performance.

It's not the first time Lambert has faced the inside of a jail cell. A public record search turned up a 1993 conviction for indecent exposure in Harris County, where he spent four days in jail and was fined $250. Lambert's history adds a sordid layer to the current allegations made against him by officials. The two third-degree felony charges — for online solicitation and the drug possession.

Lambert could face serious time behind bars if convicted. "Investigators say Lambert arrived in possession of a felony amount of methamphetamine, as well an injectable prescription drug that’s primarily for the purpose of engaging in enhanced sexual intercourse," as mentioned in a report by Montgomery County Police Reporter. The drugs discovered on Lambert could lead to added legal complications beyond the solicitation charge.
