In the wee hours of the morning, Rio Vista Police conducted a routine stop on a classic car parked without license plates at a local Chevron. The car's driver, a 49-year-old woman from Suisun City with a history of legal troubles, was found to be in another bind with law enforcement officials.
According to a Facebook post by the Rio Vista Police Department, it was just before the stroke of 1:00 a.m. when Officer Tramble encountered the vehicle that seemed out of place. The vehicle’s driver, not only lacked a current driver's license but was also on probation, which comes with its own set of restrictive caveats. The ensuing DMV check confirmed that the driver was not legally permitted behind the wheel of any vehicle.
Things escalated when a passenger, a 51-year-old male, also from Suisun City, was asked to step out to allow for a search of the vehicle. Tucked beneath the seats, officers discovered two pistols. These finds were troubling, particularly given that the passenger, a convicted felon, was legally banned from such possessions. Moreover, both individuals were found to have cocaine on their person, an offense adding to their legal woes.
The discoveries at the scene led to a slew of felony charges for the duo. The driver was slapped with five felony charges pertaining to the firearms violations and hit with two misdemeanors: possession of cocaine and a violation of probation. The passenger earned himself nine firearms-related felony charges, beset by additional misdemeanor charge for possession of cocaine. Each was promptly booked into the Solano County Jail, with their classic getaway car decidedly parked for the foreseeable future.
