A suspected drunk driver ended up in cuffs after steering her ride into a ditch on Aldine Westfield Road, law enforcement officials report.
The incident unfolded on March 1 when deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office rolled up to the 21600 block following reports of a single-vehicle mishap. The driver, identified as Shanerria Brown, was found displaying multiple signs of intoxication, according to Constable Mark Herman’s Facebook page. Confronted with field sobriety tests, Brown chose refusal over compliance and similarly dismissed requests for breath or blood specimens.
Not to be deterred, the deputies obtained a warrant for a blood sample to seal her fate. Further digging into Brown’s record revealed she wasn't new to authorities, with two outstanding misdemeanor warrants awaiting her response.
"Shanerria Brown was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the open warrants and charged with Driving While Intoxicated," announced Constable Herman, in a statement released on Facebook. "Her bond was set at $100.00 out of County Court 6." Whether Brown will sober up to the severity of her situation remains to be seen.
