Tragedy struck early Monday morning when a 15-year-old boy was killed while trying to navigate multiple lanes of traffic. The incident unfolded around 6:45 a.m. at 11101 East F.M. 1960 Road, as reported by the City of Houston's official news outlet.
Attempting to cross from the turn lane, the unidentified teenager was not in a crosswalk when struck by an eastbound black BMW 530I. Officers from the Houston Police Department Vehicular Crimes Division, Sergeant A. Patterson and Officer J. Tran, confirmed that the boy was then transported to HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood, there, unfortunately, he was pronounced dead.
The identity of the young male victim is currently on hold, waiting for the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences to carry out its duty of verification.
The BMW's female driver, having stayed on the scene, was found by the investigating officers not to be impaired. Questioned and subsequently released, her role in the fatal crash remains an accent to the ongoing investigation, according to the Houston PD's report.
