Houston’s rap legend Bun B is cranking up the volume at RodeoHouston with a nostalgic blast from the past, as he rounds up some serious Southern hip-hop royalty for the All-American Takeover. The latest to crash the party are the crunk connoisseurs, the Ying Yang Twins, announced on "The Isiah Factor" on Fox 26 Houston. Assembled to deliver a potent mix of classic hits and fresh anthems, the Twins are queued to join an already stacked lineup. Fans are in for a rewind button mash-up, throwing it back to the sweaty, bass-thumping early 2000s.
Making the old new again, the Ying Yang Twins, famous for their thumping track "Salt Shaker," are ready to shake up NRG Stadium come March 12. Stirring up the energy, they’re joining forces with industry giants Nelly, E-40, Too Short, Rick Ross, and That Mexican OT, exclusively revealed by the Houston Chronicle. Bun B himself proclaimed, "Everybody should be really ready because when we get to the last names on this list, if you ain't got your ticket, it's going to be a wrap at that point."
This is not Bun B’s first rodeo, having taken the stage for the past two years. His 2022 H-Town Takeover lit up the stadium with a crew that included Z-Ro and Paul Wall among others, while last year’s Southern Takeover brought out the likes of Erykah Badu. Now running for a third year, the rapper's imprint on the Houston Rodeo is cementing itself as an annual tradition, beckoning hip-hop heads to don their cowboy boots with an urban twist.
While the Ying Yang Twins are fresh off releasing their single “God's Calling Me” this year, their footprint in Bun B's career is standout, having previously united on the track "Git It." Signed, sealed, and soon to be delivered live, these icons are set to make the stadium throb to a mix of beats old and new, reported by Fox 26 Houston. Under the sparkling lights of the stadium, and alongside Bun B’s curated constellation of rap royalty, the Twins are ready to answer God’s call to the stage, ensuring a performance that might just turn the rodeo into the hottest club in Texas.
