During the event, a resident tried to unsuccessfully fight back the flames and suffered from smoke inhalation. The approximately 55-year-old man was transported to a local hospital as per the LAFD update. Fortunately, there were no firefighter injuries reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation as community members await answers.
