The distressed hiker, stranded on the rugged Redbud Trail, was swiftly located by the CHP H-30 helicopter team after they received precise GPS coordinates from Cal Fire Saint Helena Dispatch. The hiker was airlifted to safety, thanks to a joint effort with Lake County firefighters, and subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment, as reported by CHP - Golden Gate Division Air Operations.
Earlier that same day, the invaluable CHP H-30 crew found themselves engaged in another critical mission, collaborating with AMR Napa County to aid a gravely injured motorcyclist in Calistoga. The motorcycle rider had sustained serious injuries and required urgent care, so the H-30 team stepped in. They flew the patient to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for specialized attention while Napa CHP took the reins of the ongoing investigation.
