In a sweeping push against violent crime, San Bernardino County law enforcement agencies have clenched an iron fist on illicit activities, resulting in a bulk of arrests and weapons seizures. Dubbed 'Operation Consequences,' the initiative unfolded from April 6 through April 12 to dismantle criminal enterprise paving through the High Desert and San Bernardino territories. The concerted efforts brought 36 felons to heel and yanked 52 guns from the very hands that misuse them, according to the Sheriff-Coroner Department.

Authorities got down to brass tacks by serving 17 search warrants in various cities including Hesperia, Victorville, and Barstow, wherein they uncovered a stockpile of illegal narcotics stripped gang members, and prohibited from their firearms, among these 22 identified as untraceable ghost guns. This crackdown, fueled by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors' financial backing, is steered toward ameliorating quality-of-life issues that have long plagued the county's communities.

The sheriff's department is pulling out all the stops for 'Operation Consequences,' deploying divisions specialized in gang/narcotics and enlisting support from the California Highway Patrol, County Probation, and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations, as per the SBSD - Headquarters. With a mandate to curtail violent crime, disrupt gangs, and snuff out the illegal possession, manufacture, and trafficking of firearms, the operation is on a set course for the upcoming months.

Shannon D. Dicus, the sheriff-coroner at the helm, stressed the imperative of these operations, stating, "Operation Consequences will focus on conducting targeted crime suppression operations and parole and probation checks, in the High Desert and the Sheriff’s jurisdiction surrounding the city of San Bernardino." The message is unequivocal: authorities are coming down hard on lawbreakers with an unwavering resolve to restore peace and order.
