Suspect in Vallejo Fatal Shooting Surrenders Two Months After IncidentSource: Vallejo Police Department

More than two months after a fatal shooting rocked a quiet neighborhood, the suspect in the Vallejo homicide case turned himself in, police said.

The Vallejo Police Department received a call on February 4 detailing gun violence that had unfolded at the intersection of Bonnie Way and Melody Lane. Officers arrived to find a male victim, who, despite their efforts to save him, was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering a gunshot wound.

Extensive investigation by the Vallejo Police led to the identification of 26-year-old Ethan Menefee, a local resident, as the shooter. An arrest warrant was soon issued by the Solano County District Attorney's Office following detectives' presentation of evidence against Menefee.

The tables turned on April 17, when Menefee handed himself over to authorities, the Vallejo Police Department announced. After his surrender, Menefee was booked into Solano County Jail, awaiting due process for his alleged crimes.

Law enforcement is still seeking information related to the case. They urge anyone with knowledge about the incident to reach out to Detective Stephanie McDonough or Detective Daniel Callison. The Vallejo Police Department's Public Information Officer, Sgt. Rashad Hollis is handling media inquiries.
