Responding deputies found that one male had already been taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm, amidst the chaos, a nearby hospital had to implement a lockdown. FOX 26 Houston stated that authorities later found a second male with a gunshot wound to the chest, inside a vehicle that may have been involved in the shooting and had fled the scene.
The deputies at the site provided the second victim with life-saving measures until emergency medical services arrived and transported him to a local hospital. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit along with Crime Scene Investigators were dispatched and arrived on the scene, diving deep into the night to uncover what had transpired.
The investigation was still active as of 6 a.m., with detectives "working to identify a suspect and determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting," as stated in a release from the sheriff's office obtained by the Houston Chronicle. Meanwhile, the identities of the injured parties had not been made public as of 8 a.m., signifying the careful treading in the early stages of the case.
