
A family dispute in Adelanto turned violent over the weekend, resulting in one brother behind bars and the other in the hospital. Deputies were called to the scene on the 9500 block of Palo Verde Ct. following a 911 report of an altercation at approximately 7:46 p.m. on Saturday, authorities said.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner's office disclosed that upon arrival deputies discovered an adult male with a serious head injury. The conflict was between two siblings, with 53-year-old Alfonso Sanchez accused of striking his brother and causing the injury. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was found unconscious after having his head hit the concrete.
The injured man received medical attention at a local hospital while Alfonso Sanchez was apprehended shortly thereafter. Details provided in a sheriff’s department statement indicated that Sanchez faces charges of assault with the possibility of great bodily injury and is being held on a $40,000.00 bail at the High Desert Detention Center.
