
An Apple Valley man, Humberto Cuetohttps://nixle.us/FK44T, 44, has been arrested and is facing attempted murder charges after a shooting incident in a quiet neighborhood. The victim, a 67-year-old male whose name has not been released, was shot allegedly by Cueto on Tuesday night, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
The authorities were called to the scene at the 14300 block of Jicarilla Road around 9:33 p.m. after they received reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, deputies found Cueto in the front yard and took him into custody without a fight. In the course of the investigation, it was determined that Cueto had fired the weapon in response to an earlier assault by the victim.
Details on what led up to the confrontation have not been disclosed. However, the victim survived and is presumably assisting with the ongoing investigation. Cueto was booked into High Desert Detention Center with his bail set at $2,000,000. "Humberto Cueto was booked for attempted homicide," confirmed a statement released by the Sheriff's Department.
On Thursday, felony charges were formally filed by the San Bernardino District Attorney’s office against Cueto. The case has attracted attention from residents eager for more information about the altercation and its aftermath. The Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station, among other departments, is handling the case, with a case number of 182402383 according to official reports.
