The Wayne Ferguson Plaza is sprucing up weekends with a dash of creativity. Starting this Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, local artists will be bringing the plaza to life with their Art Pop-ups. Expect to see a mixed bag of painting, live music, and other art forms that’ll brighten up your Saturday mornings as if the very sidewalks were the stage for a spontaneous eruption of culture.
First up to bat this May 11 is Kalika Antano, a member of the Visual Art League of Lewisville, whose canvas work kicks off the series. According to the City of Lewisville, Texas, Antano draws inspiration from travel and the everyday play of light and shadow.
Future Saturdays will showcase talents like Steven Rodriguez on May 18, and the lineup runs through June with artists such as Jose Angel Hernandez, Chuck Hendrickson, and Georgia Neame. With each weekend featuring a unique artist, it’s a lottery of artistic expression. It's recommended that art enthusiasts check out the Wayne Ferguson Plaza or the Visual Art Leagues of Lewisville Facebook pages in case Mother Nature decides to play her tune.
The City of Lewisville, Texas sings praises of the 1.5-acre urban park, famous for its sweeping landscapes that fuse water features and native Texan flora, not forgetting the interactive splash pad and a stage set high above the rest. Whether it’s the rustle of grasses or the murmur of wildflowers, the plaza seems to whisper sweet nothings to those within its spell, inviting one and all to enjoy its award-winning design. It pools the community in ways only a vibrant public space can.
