A brutal stabbing occurred at a Culver City parking lot, leaving one woman severely injured before the alleged assailant was captured by the police. The terrifying incident took place on Sunday, May 5, at around 2:45 p.m. at 6100 block of Slauson Avenue, as reported by the Culver City Police Department.

In a desperate scramble to ensure immediate aid, officers quickly responded to the scene where they found the adult female victim with multiple stab wounds. As she was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment, law enforcement set out to to swiftly locate the suspect. The woman who was assaulted has been released from the hospital since the attack, after receiving the necessary medical care.

According to a press release by Culver City Police, they found the suspect, Jorge Arnoldo Vasquez, 35, hiding in the bushes of Cougar Park, not far from the location of the stabbing. Initially, the assailant attempted to deceive authorities by providing a false age, claiming he was 38.

Following his arrest, Vasquez has been charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and providing false identification to a peace officer. His bail was set at two million dollars. The initial arrest saw the suspect taken into custody without further incident, while a knife, believed to have been used in the attack, was recovered at the crime scene.
