According to a release by the Los Angeles Fire Department, the defunct restaurant at 320 S Soto St became a furnace at around 10:30 a.m.; it was already thoroughly consumed by fire when 35 firefighters arrived and they wasted no time launching into defensive firefighting operations to quench the inferno which once before had seared through the same walls.
A video circulating on the Citizen App reveals the intensity of the blaze, walls succumbing to fire while a black smoke tail rose defiantly into the skies over Boyle Heights, a stark signal of another life passed for the former food spot, as per KTLA. Confirmation from the LAFD stamped the fire out at approximately 10:45 a.m., with no reported injuries arising from the incident, and the cause still shrouded in mystery.
