A man was apprehended and charged with criminal trespass of a habitation after allegedly returning to a property he'd been warned to stay away from, authorities said. The incident unfolded in the tranquil 6000 block of Kingwood Glen Drive, where deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office were dispatched on May 19 prompted by reports of a suspicious character.
Jermiah Hebert, who had been issued a Criminal Trespass Warning just a day prior, was allegedly found inside the residence without permission. In a no-nonsense approach to the trespassing violation, law enforcement quickly took Hebert into custody. As per Constable Mark Herman, "Jermiah Hebert was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Criminal Trespass of a Habitation. His bond was set at $100.00 out of County Court 10." The information was disseminated through the constable's Facebook page.
As the accused awaits further proceedings with bond set at a modest sum, questions about deterrents for such violations loom. The repercussions of ignoring initial warnings seem minor, almost inconsequential, when set against the backdrop of repeated offenses.
