A shooting at a West Houston McDonald's has resulted in the death of a local attorney and the subsequent arrest of a 57-year-old man. Officials have identified the suspect as Anthony Martin Landry, who is now facing murder charges in the death of 46-year-old Jeffrey Limmer, as per court records.
The Houston Chronicle reports that the incident took place on May 4, 2024, at a McDonald's located at 8147 Katy Freeway, where Jeffrey Limmer was fatally shot following an altercation. A witness described Landry as having become irate over a refund for his purchase, during which he allegedly used racial slurs and other crude language towards the establishment's employees. According to the manager, Limmer "stepped in to defend them," following Landry outside the restaurant where a subsequent argument ensued.
Limmer is said to have pushed Landry to the ground and returned inside, which was detailed in the Houston Chronicle. Court documents then assert that Landry retrieved a gun from his vehicle, returned to the fast-food restaurant and shot Limmer multiple times. Police later found Limmer dead at the scene from the gunshot wounds.
Following investigative efforts, Houston police were able to locate and apprehend Landry. A witness identified him as the shooter, aiding in his capture, as reported by ABC13. Additional records revealed Landry was previously out on bond for an assault charge on a family member in February. He is currently detained in jail, without bond, and awaits his first court appearance.
