
A grand jury is slated to review the case of a Houston pizza delivery driver who shot and killed a person during an alleged attempted robbery. The incident took place at the Park Yellowstone Apartment Homes located at 3322 Yellowstone Boulevard, where the confrontation occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday.
The driver, while in the process of delivering pizza, was confronted by two individuals, one of whom was reportedly armed with a gun. According to a statement obtained by the Houston Chronicle, the delivery driver is accused of having pulled out his own gun to fatally shoot the armed individual. The second suspect fled the scene.
Following the shooting, the driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, remained at the location and cooperated with the ensuing police investigation. As reported by FOX 26 Houston, the victim, described only as a male customer, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives are currently trying to ascertain whether the deceased and his accomplice were customers or residents of the apartment complex. The Houston Police Department spokesperson, Shay Awosiyan said "Police don’t know if the two people who allegedly attempted to rob the pizza delivery driver were customers or residents of the apartment complex." The second individual involved in the incident remains unidentified and at large.
