
Chaos unfolded in Palm Desert yesterday as a hit-and-run incident turned into a high-speed chase through city streets. According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, deputies were dispatched following a report of a minor injury traffic collision at the intersection of Monterey Avenue and Dinah Shore Drive. The suspect, later identified as 27-year-old Jesse Quiroz of Indio, fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.
Efforts to quickly apprehend Quiroz led deputies to engage in hot pursuit after the suspect failed dramatically to yield. The chase came to a halt near the crossroads of Country Club Drive and Eldorado Drive. According to the Riverside Sheriff's Department, Quiroz was subsequently arrested without further incident. Thankfully, the arrest resulted in no injuries to either the deputies involved or Quiroz himself.
