
A high-speed tragedy unfolded late Saturday night in Garden Grove, as a juvenile in a stolen car led police on a disastrous chase, ending in a crash that killed a 34-year-old man and left another in critical condition. According to CBS News Los Angeles, the pursuit began before 10 p.m. near Taft Street and Garden Grove Boulevard when police tried to pull over the allegedly stolen vehicle.
The chase quickly escalated when the underage driver sped away, leading to a violent collision, that involved three other cars. After the smashup, the juvenile attempted to escape on foot but was apprehended by officers. A passenger from the stolen car remains at large, following a successful flee from the crash site. The identity of the arrested juvenile has not been released due to age restrictions.
Tragically, 34-year-old Kevin Luu of Garden Grove was among the victims and was pronounced dead following the collision. Another individual was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The juvenile, who suffered minor injuries, has been booked into juvenile hall.
