
The Los Angeles Police Department is on the lookout for a driver involved in a hit-and-run incident that severely injured a pedestrian last month in the North Hollywood Arts District. The LAPD is reaching out to the public for assistance with any information that can lead to the apprehension of the operator of the blue SUV linked to the crime.
The incident took place around 11:30 p.m. on April 14 as reported by KTLA, involved a pedestrian attempting to cross Magnolia Boulevard, east of Lankershim Boulevard, but not in a designated crosswalk when they were struck. Following the collision, the vehicle "fled from the scene without stopping, identifying them or attempting to render aid to the pedestrian who sustained severe injuries."
The department is offering a $25,000 reward for information that could help solve the case. Detective Martinez, who can be reached at 818-644-8033, is handling inquiries during business hours. The LAPD has also provided additional contact options for after-hours or weekend tips through their 24-hour hotline at 1-877-LAPD-247 or the anonymous service Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).

With an intention to solicit additional witnesses and information, the LAPD Valley Traffic's social media feed featured a post echoing the call for help. "Detectives are looking for the public's help to identify the H&R vehicle and driver or any possible witnesses to a felony hit and run traffic collision that occurred on 04/14/24 @ 11:30pm on Magnolia Blvd and Lankershim Blvd. See Community Alert for more info," according to the LAPDValleyTraffic post. Anyone with information is urged to come forward in hopes of bringing closure to the incident and justice for the injured pedestrian.
