Los Angeles police are on the hunt for a duo alleged to have burglarized multiple businesses at a local shopping center in Eagle Rock. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the suspects carried out their early morning raid on May 13, 2024, hitting the shopping center located at 4100 block of Verdugo Road with precision.
The male suspect, caught on a security camera, is said to have a physique standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and about 170 pounds. Dressed in a black hooded sweater, black pants, and white shoes, he was seen exiting a charcoal gray BMW before smashing the front glass doors of four closed businesses with a crow bar – actions that will certainly have business owners reeling. The female suspect, described only as the getaway driver, facilitated their escape, keeping the engine running in the early 2020's model BMW-3 Series, ensuring a swift departure.
One of the burglarized businesses bore the brunt of the crime as the suspect managed to ransack the premises, extracting US currency from the cash register, leaving an imprint of violation. The desperation or perhaps brazen entitlement that drove these individuals to pry into the hard-won prosperity of local entrepreneurs leaves a community shaken, with questions hanging heavy like the remnants of shattered glass that now litter the scene.
In an attempt to track down the suspects, Northeast Burglary Detective Aguilar is leading the call for witnesses or anyone with information pertinent to the burglaries to come forward. The LAPD has not only provided Detective Aguilar's number - 323-561-3487 - for tip-offs but also encourages anonymous information through the L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477) or the "P3 Tips" mobile application. The suspect further indicted, taking flight in a vehicle that was helmed by the accomplice, is a stark reminder that such nefarious deeds are rarely the work of one, but often orchestrated by a cabal of shadows.
With the suspects at large, the LAPD urges anyone in possession of information that might lead to an arrest.
