Two Michigan teens are behind bars, charged with the first-degree murder of their roommate after a dispute over house rules and a grim suspicion turned deadly on Flint's north side. Jacob Blain, 19, and 18-year-old Willow Reynolds stand accused of the brutal slaying of 44-year-old Adam Reynolds in what appears to be a robbery gone violent, said the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officials allege that on May 2, Blain and Willow, who are not related to the victim despite sharing a surname, engaged in an act of premeditated murder following a disagreement. The confrontation escalated, with the suspects believing that Adam was poisoning them, as reported by WJRT. Authorities found the victim dead in his residence, presenting with evidence of a violent attack.

Responding to a 911 call from the victim's girlfriend, who discovered the ghastly scene upon returning from work, the authorities arrived at the residence located at the 1100 block of Osceola Avenue. As detailed by WNEM, police reported Reynolds dead with clear signs of trauma. Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton was quoted saying, "The defendants and the victim had some issues between them and for whatever reason, the two defendants felt the best way to resolve the differences was to kill the victim."

The investigation revealed gruesome details of the murder: mace sprayed, stab wounds inflicted, and fatal blows delivered by a shovel. In an attempt to flee, the accused tried to steal Reynolds' vehicle, which failed to start, prompting a walk to a nearby McDonald’s to make their call for help. According to an affidavit reported by MLive, Blain had also cut himself during the alleged homicide, and both required medical attention for various injuries, including those said to have been sustained during a sexual encounter earlier that day.

Blain and Willow were apprehended and arraigned on charges including conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, armed robbery, and carjacking. They both face life sentences if convicted of the charges. The pair remain in custody, held without bond, as they await a probable cause conference set for May 23 in front of District Court Judge Jennifer J. Manley.
