One man is behind bars and the hunt continues for his alleged accomplice following a harrowing robbery and kidnapping case on the Northwest Freeway. Yoshua Figueroa, 30, faces charges for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and aggravated kidnapping. Authorities detained Figueroa after discovering he was already in custody at the Harris County Jail on unrelated charges, as reported by City of Houston News.

Wearing a black “10X” shirt, surveillance cameras captured images of the second male suspect, who remains on the loose. The images have been made public in hopes someone will step forward with information leading to his capture. According to the initial investigation, the victim was forcibly taken at gunpoint and subsequently found safe at a nearby hospital, where he received treatment and was released.

Affected by the events of March 17, the victim recounted to HPD patrol officers how he was robbed in his hotel room on the Northwest Freeway at approximately 8:45 p.m. A friend had left to purchase drinks from a gas station and never returned, amidst this, the robbers made their daring move. Houston Police Department's Homicide Division Sergeant C. Lamont and Detective A. Herrera were assigned to the case, according to source statements.

After diligent review of the evidence and witness statements, Figueroa emerged as a likely participant in the crime. With the assistance of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Figueroa was charged for his role in the incident on April 23. The search intensifies for his unnamed partner in crime, highlights City of Houston News.

The HPD is urging anyone with knowledge of the second suspect’s identity to come forward. Witnesses can contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or anonymously provide tips to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
