Plymouth Unveils 'Music in Millennium' Summer Concert Series at Community Center GardensSource: City of Plymouth

Summer's heating up in Plymouth, and so is the local music scene. The City of Plymouth has cooked up a fresh outdoor concert series dubbed Music in Millennium, set to take place in the lush Millennium Garden at the Plymouth Community Center. The venue, known for its picturesque weddings and swanky special events, is throwing open its gates to a symphony of sounds this season.

On June 18, the Plymouth Concert Band will be ready to totally blast their horns and warm the hearts of the crowd starting at 7 p.m. Comprised of 65 individuals from various professions, they're not just musicians; they're neighbors, and friends, bringing the community together through the power of the symphonic wind band. And let's not forget about the Plymouth Rockers, slated to shake up the stage on August 20. These rockin' seniors have been serenading the Twin Cities since 1991, and they ain't slowing down. The City of Plymouth sponsors their gigs, with a little help from Metropolitan Regional Arts Council grants.

It's not just about the tunes, though. The Millennium Garden is a slice of Eden with its botanical wonders, meandering trails, and curative labyrinth. Recreation Supervisor Alyssa Fram painted the picture best: "The Millennium Garden is truly a gem in Plymouth. Combining this gorgeous outdoor setting with music from talented local performers is sure to create memorable summer evenings."

All are welcome to join the festivities and are encouraged to BYOC – Bring Your Own Chairs. Or blankets, for the more earthy folks. Just park it and enjoy the show. For those who'd like to sneak a peek at the full lineup or check out other local events, a hopover to the Plymouth website will surely provide expected thrills.
