Get ready for a blast from the past, as the Detroit Zoo is set to welcome back a crowd-favorite exhibition. The Dinosauria event, a hit among visitors of all ages, is roaring back into town after a two-year hiatus, according to ClickOnDetroit. Guests will be able to walk through a forest of the past, as they'll encounter more than 25 life-size, animatronic dinosaurs. They'll be greeted by the towering might of the Brachiosaurus while the infamous T-Rex lies waiting along a winding trail.
In a statement obtained by Patch, Emily O’Hara, the senior manager of guest experience design heralded the attraction's return, stating, "Dinosauria is roaring back for the first time since 2022, and we couldn’t be more excited." Fossils from different periods face off, demonstrating their unique traits along the trail, providing not just a spectacle but an educational journey back in time. Patrons will not only marvel at these prehistoric creatures but also get their hands dirty at multiple fossil dig sites, searching the sands for buried relics of an ancient world.
The experience, running from May 25 to September 8, isn't just about massive reptiles. Dinosaur-themed merchandise and gifts are also part of the offering, ensuring every visitor can take a piece of the Mesozoic era home with them. As reported by WXYZ, the exhibit is open during regular zoo hours, and entry to Dinosauria will set attendees back an extra $6 per person, in addition to the general zoo admission fee.
For dinosaur enthusiasts looking to frequently travel back in time, the Detroit Zoo offers an annual Dino Pass for $45, granting unlimited access to the exhibit. However, come June 1, this deal will hike up to $60. Whether you're a fan of the Jurassic, the Triassic, or just looking for family fun, Dinosauria at the Detroit Zoo is shaping up to be a mammoth event for everyone.
