A Riverside man is now behind bars after a mishap on the roads left a pedestrian nursing major injuries this past Saturday evening. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, at approximately 7:16 p.m., Ricardo Aguilar, 33, was driving his 2015 Nissan Rogue when he veered off Foothill Boulevard and Lion Street in Rancho Cucamonga, slamming into a 66-year-old male pedestrian.

The collision didn't just leave a man fighting for his life, it also led to Aguilar’s arrest on suspicion of DUI. The victim, meanwhile, was quickly transported to a nearby hospital where he currently remains in critical, but stable condition. In the aftermath, deputies roped off the scene as the Rancho Cucamonga Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) took over the probe into the disturbing event.
