A man suspected of attempted murder was nabbed by sheriff investigators after a pursuit across Moorpark farmlands, authorities said. Samuel Adolfo, 31, was arrested on May 15th in the 8000 block of Positas Road following a comprehensive search by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office. Adolfo is accused of a violent stabbing that occurred on May 6th.
According to a released statement by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the scene of a stabbing at an agricultural field, finding a male victim with multiple stab wounds. The victim received immediate medical attention, undergoing surgery at a local hospital. Fleeing before deputies' arrival, Adolfo slipped away, triggering a nearly ten-day manhunt.
The Sheriff's Major Crimes Bureau, joined by Camarillo Station Special Enforcement and Patrol Units, conducted the investigation that led to Adolfo's capture. Authorities stated that they obtained information leading them to the Moorpark location where Adolfo made a failed attempt to escape custody by bolting through the fields.
After deploying resources including aviation units to track his movements, the runaway suspect was finally cornered and detained. Facing serious charges, Adolfo was thrown behind bars at the Ventura County Jail, with bail set at a hefty $540,000.00.
Sergeant Albert Ramirez, a representative of the Sheriff's Office, reiterated the communal effort required to bring Adolfo to justice. Offering up to $1,000 for tips leading to an arrest in the case, the Ventura County Crime Stoppers encourages individuals with information to come forward.
