Two men have been nabbed after a brazen daylight robbery in Victorville was thwarted by a quick-thinking clerk and a vigilant sheriff's deputy. The incident, which took place on Wednesday, May 22, near the intersection of Mojave Drive and Amargosa Road, led to the arrests of Alberto Trevino, a 30-year-old from Adelanto, and Carlos Alfonso Cervantes, a 31-year-old San Bernardino resident.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, the clerk signaled Deputy Valencia after the robbery at Beyond Market, where the victim attempted to confront Trevino for the stolen beer but was met with threats of gun violence, Trevino allegedly warned the clerk he would shoot, prompting the clerk to seek help from Deputy Valencia who was nearby, and witnessed as he spotted the suspect's vehicle pulling out from the business.

During the encounter, the owner of the vehicle gave consent for a search, leading to the recovery of a fake black revolver and the discovery of drug paraphernalia in the possession of Cervantes, who was also found to be on probation. Trevino faced multiple charges, including robbery, threatening to commit a crime and burglary. He was booked at High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, as was Cervantes for the possession of drug paraphernalia.
