
Long Beach was the scene of two separate shootings early Thursday morning that left two men injured according to the Long Beach Police Department. Both victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries in incidents that occurred hours apart and in different parts of the city, with no arrests reported by authorities as of press time.
The first incident, a hit shooting, happened around 1:50 a.m. on the 1400 block of Chestnut Avenue. A male victim reportedly sustained a gunshot wound to the lower body. According to the LBPD's blotter, police arrived at the scene following a call but could not locate a crime scene. The injured man was transported to a local hospital by Long Beach Fire Department personnel, the investigation into the shooting, including the motive, remains active.
Less than an hour later, at approximately 2:33 a.m., another man was shot. This second shooting occurred near the intersection of Willow Street and Easy Avenue. The victim, who police say was driving at the time of the attack, managed to get himself to a hospital after being shot in the upper body.
With no suspects in custody, and the crime scenes elusive, the Long Beach Police Department continues to probe the circumstances surrounding both shootings. Officials have not linked the two incidents, and they have not released any descriptions of potential suspects or vehicles involved.
