Nafiysh Knox-Schenck, 32, was nabbed by U.S. Marshals in the Northern Liberties neighborhood of Philadelphia at around 12:30 P.M. Wednesday, according to a release from the U.S. Marshals Service. Knox-Schenck was originally brought in on firearms violations but managed to make a daring escape after an unknown associate opened the police vehicle's door, enabling him to flee on foot.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force had been on Knox-Schenck's trail since the escape and convened early Thursday morning to conduct thorough surveillance of a condominium complex where they believed Knox-Schenck to be hiding out. After determining their suspect was likely hiding inside, the Task Force moved quickly but cautiously to apprehend him. Knox-Schenck, confronted by the Marshals at the door, surrendered immediately.

Robert Clark, Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal for the Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force, praised his team's proficiency in apprehending such fugitives: "Our fugitive task force has the most experience in the country apprehending escapees and the Marshals Service will always support law enforcement agencies who need violent criminals brought back into custody," Clark stated.
