A Victorville man has been taken into custody following a domestic dispute that spiraled into a shooting, injuring both his wife and ten-year-old child, authorities said Monday. The incident unfolded late Sunday night at Days Inn on La Paz Drive, where deputies responding to the scene found a woman suffering from a neck wound and a child with a stomach injury.

Both victims were promptly rushed to a trauma center, where they are currently receiving treatment. 31-year-old Christopher Bulger, identified as the husband and father, was subsequently arrested in connection to the violent altercation. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, it is alleged that after an argument, Bulger shot his wife in the neck. The bullet reportedly exited her body and continued to then strike the juvenile in the stomach.

The charges against Bulger are severe, including attempted murder, corporal injury to a spouse, child endangerment, and violations related to his status as a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. Investigators also found that the firearm's identification information had been tampered with.
