A 19-year-old woman was critically injured during a midday robbery in Chicago's Lawndale neighborhood. According to ABC7 Chicago, the incident took place on Sunday around 1:30 P.M. in the 3900 block of West 21st Street when the victim was confronted by a group of males demanding her belongings.

The encounter escalated when one assailant brandished a firearm and discharged it, striking the young woman in her torso. Following the shooting, the suspects fled the scene with the victim's property. She was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she remains in critical condition, according to preliminary information from Chicago police.
