A fatal motorcycle accident in Apple Valley claimed the life of a 46-year-old man early Friday morning. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, the crash occurred on Pasco Road, just south of Bear Valley Road.

The incident, which involved a single vehicle, took place around 12:54 am when the rider, aboard a black Harley Davidson, attempted a left turn onto Outer Bear Valley Road South and reportedly lost control. The motorcycle flipped, ejecting the man who was wearing a helmet, but he sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. The Apple Valley Fire Department and American Medical Response attended alongside deputies from the Apple Valley Station.

In a statement published on the department’s website, authorities said an investigator from the Major Accident Investigative Team (M.A.I.T) of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department was summoned to lead the probe into the accident. The road was closed for about four hours during the morning for evidence collection and witness interviews.

The Sheriff’s Department is urging anyone with information regarding the collision to reach out to Deputy S. Esparza at the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be submitted through the We-Tip Hotline or the service's website. This tragic event has left authorities piecing together the circumstances that led to the loss of one of Apple Valley’s own, as the community grapples with the sudden departure of a fellow resident.
