
Big Bear Lake was the scene of a daring burglary on June 11, when two men allegedly attempted to break into cash kiosks at Southwest Gas, causing significant financial damage, as reported by the Big Bear Sheriff's Department.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department responded to the incident around 11:46 p.m., finding two men fleeing the location and a woman sitting in a getaway vehicle—identities later confirmed as Rosemary Flores, Sergio Garcia, and an initially unnamed suspect who was later arrested, following an investigation the trio were charged with commercial burglary, estimated damages and theft amounting to over $42,000, and booked into custody, with their bails set at substantially high amounts, emphasizing the seriousness of their alleged crimes.
According to the Big Bear Sheriff's Department, deputies caught Flores at the scene, acting as a lookout while Garcia was discovered hiding under a bus after a short pursuit.
Two days after the failed burglary at the gas company, Cesar Abraham, the third suspect, was found at a residence in Riverside, he attempted to flee but deputies were ultimately successful in capturing and booking him into the Central Detention Center with his bail notably set at a quarter million dollars indicating the nature of his alleged involvement, as per the Big Bear Sheriff's Department.
