Early Wednesday, a liquor store in North Hollywood became the target of a brazen burglary involving a U-Haul truck and a pair of thieves intent on plunder. The incident unfolded around 4:30 a.m. at Ambrose Liquor on Barham Boulevard, as detailed by ABC7.

Todd Hoffman, a witness of the crime, as per ABC7, saw the U-Haul smashing through the store's security gate and expressed his initial belief that the noise was born of an accident—a regular occurrence on the speed-ridden street. Overlooking the street, the unfolding crime scene became the theater of a quick operation as the thieves, shouting, removed what appeared to be an ATM. Carrying it out of the establishment, they loaded the haul along with other pilfered merchandise into the backend of the vehicle, which remained agape as they hastily departed the scene.

The store manager relayed to KTLA that the perpetrators made away with bottled spirits and the cash machine. The estimations of the cash inside the ATM and the value of the stolen stock remained uncertain. The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating the case, with hopes that surveillance footage caught the act, yet it was unclear at the time of the reports whether such video evidence existed.
