Local authorities are seeking assistance from the community in locating 72-year-old Raymundo "Ray" Guajardo who went missing near Quakes Stadium in Rancho Cucamonga. Guajardo, a resident of Fontana and Pico Rivera, was last observed by family members on Sunday morning as he watched a softball game at 8408 Rochester Avenue, Rancho Cucamonga, before he vanished without a trace. In an announcement released by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, he is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5'10" tall, with a medium build, and weighing 150 lbs.
The report, published on June 9th, notes that Guajardo, diagnosed with a cognitive disability earlier this year, is not well-acquainted with the Rancho Cucamonga area. He was last seen outfitted in a maroon and gray flannel, a light gray T-shirt with “Pahrump” print, khaki shorts, and black shoes. Concerns are heightened by the fact that Guajardo had no wallet, identification, cell phone, or tracking device on his person at the time of his disappearance, rendering electronic location efforts futile.
Investigators and family members believe that Guajardo may attempt to return to his home in Pico Rivera on his own. The family has provided an image of the clothes Guajardo was wearing at the time he went missing, hoping it will aid in the public's recognition. Authorities are urging anyone who may have seen him or could offer any information regarding his whereabouts to contact the Sheriff’s Dispatch immediately at 909-941-1488 or to call 9-1-1 for urgent matters.
Reference to the case, assigned the number DR# 112406318, can be made when providing information to Detective E. Getts or Sgt. R. Norkunas at the Rancho Cucamonga station. More details and updates can be found on the official report here. The Rancho Cucamonga Police Department, located at 10510 Civic Center Dr, is coordinating ongoing search and investigation efforts to ensure Guajardo's safe return.
