In an unsettling turn of events, Culver City was the scene of an armed robbery last Thursday, according to the Culver City Police Department. A man was confronted by two individuals after withdrawing cash from an ATM on the 5600 block of Sepulveda Boulevard. The incident unfolded just past the midnight hour, at 1:14 am, culminating in a moment of sheer terror for the victim.
The robbery was executed with a calculated brusqueness — one of the suspects brandished a black semi-automatic rifle, threatening the victim into compliance. "Give me the money. Give me the cash," the armed suspect demanded, as the victim, fearing for his life, cast the money on the ground before them. As this terrifying scene unfolded during the night, the perpetrators showed relentless determination, demanding more money and the victim's cell phone. The situation took an even more menacing turn when the victim was instructed to “Let's get in your car and go somewhere else.” When he did not comply, the suspects ultimately decided to flee the area, having taken $120 in cash. According to the press release by the Culver City Police Department, the search for the culprits is ongoing.
Authorities are now seeking public assistance to apprehend the individuals responsible for the crime. The suspects are described as two males, possibly Hispanic, in their late teens to early twenties. Anyone with knowledge pertinent to the case is encouraged to step forward and make contact with Culver City's authorities.
