According to KTLA, the Costa Mesa Police Department (CMPD) responded to an 11 p.m. call at the 1700 block of Placentia Avenue Tuesday night, where they discovered a 22-year-old male victim, now deceased, from apparent stab wounds.
A second, related assault occurred only blocks away near Placentia Avenue and Shalimar Drive, where a 19-year-old male was also stabbed, suffering minor injuries. The family of this second victim rushed him to a local hospital, where he received treatment. In the narrative pieced together by authorities, this sequence of brutal events appears to be linked, with suspicions pointing toward gang involvement, as reported by the Costa Mesa Police Department.
