The Hernando County Sheriff's Office is seeking assistance in locating a missing teenager and her infant daughter. The teen, identified as 16-year-old Tamya Chloe Johnson, and her baby, Ke-Ari James, were last observed on the morning of June 16 at a residence on Mayflower Road in Spring Hill. The Sheriff's Office has made an appeal to the public to aid in finding the young mother and her child, who have yet to return to their home.
Tamya is described as standing 5 feet 4 inches tall, having brown eyes, and was last seen donning a gray sweatsuit. While her hair was reported as red during her last sighting, there is a possibility that Tamya may have altered her hair color since then, as per information provided by the Hernando County Sheriff's Office and reported by FOX 13 News. A heightened level of concern surrounds the case due to the mother's young age and the vulnerability of an infant.
Authorities have yet to disclose any information about the circumstances surrounding their disappearance, including whether they suspect foul play or believe the teen left of her own accord. The Sheriff's Office is urging anyone who might have information about Tamya and Ke-Ari's whereabouts to come forward and contact them directly at 352-754-6830. This plea has been echoed across multiple news platforms, including WFLA and ABC Action News.
The local community has been alerted to this unsettling disappearance, and electronic billboards in the region display the missing persons information. Continual updates to the story are pivotal, as the longer the time elapses, the more concern grows for the safety and welfare of the young mother and her baby. The sharing of their images and details through social media is encouraged by the authorities as a means to tap into a larger audience who may have crucial information that could lead to a reunion of Tamya and Ke-Ari with their family.
