A high-speed chase unfurled across Livingston County, Michigan, resulting in the arrests of two individuals, one of whom led deputies on a pursuit reaching speeds exceeding 80 mph. According to CBS News Detroit, at approximately 8:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Sheriff's deputies attempted to pull over a gray Ford F-350 truck when they noticed the vehicle had an improperly attached license plate that seemed unregistered.
The situation escalated when the driver of the Ford, instead of complying, accelerated away from the deputies triggering a chase through Brighton and Hamburg Townships. The chase, as WILX reports, tore across the area, finally coming to a halt at the dead end of Old Road, where the woman was arrested after stop sticks deflated three of the truck's tires.
The driver, a 48-year-old woman from Putnam Township, faces multiple charges including driving with a suspended license, fleeing and eluding, and operating under the influence of drugs, among others. Dashcam footage from the incident was released, which captures the harrowing pursuit. Reinforcing these details, ClickOnDetroit stated that besides these charges, the woman also had multiple outstanding felony warrants for her arrest.
The passenger, identified by authorities as a 38-year-old Brighton Township man, was not charged about the chase but was arrested on unrelated outstanding warrants, according to the same source. Both individuals were taken to Livingston County Jail following the chase, which lasted for several tense minutes before reaching its denouement on a blocked road.
