The streets of Huntington Beach are a little cleaner today after a successful bust by local police targeting drug trafficking. Huntington Beach Police Department, working within the framework of the Regional Narcotics Suppression Program (RNSP), has made a significant dent in the drug supply of 'Surf City' with the seizure of a substantial cache of cocaine and thousands in cash. According to the HBPD, a stop of a related vehicle yielded 26 kilos of suspected cocaine.
An ensuing search of a residence tied to the case brought further discoveries, as law enforcement found an additional 96 kilos of the narcotic substance and over $50,000, as reported by the HBPD. The primary mission of RNSP is to aggressively target, investigate, and prosecute individuals and organizations that promote, direct, finance, or otherwise engage in high-level (major) drug trafficking enterprises or money laundering organizations.
In their social media statement, the HBPD remarked, "We're removing dangerous drugs from Surf City through collaborative efforts to keep our community safe."
