Despite initial reports referring to a two-story home, it was later clarified that the building was, in fact, a one-story residence. The incident was rapidly brought under control by the LAFDBattalion Chief Nicholas Prange stated that the "well-coordinated fire attack with interior fire attack and vertical (rooftop) ventilation resulted in the flames being extinguished in 24 minutes, without injury, as per the LAFD." This incident has prompted an investigation into the cause of the fire, details of which remain uncertain at this time.
The operation involved thirty firefighters from various units including FS 55; Batt 2; Central Bureau; Council District 14; BC2, BC5, BC701, E12, E212, E250, E42, E55, RA12, RA55, T12, and T50. The quick and efficient response of these firefighters helped to avoid any injuries and contained the fire in the basement. The coordinated efforts of these teams prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring structures.
