
Firefighters were called to Boyle Heights last night to combat a structure fire in an unoccupied building. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), the blaze was reported at 2455 E Cincinnati Street. The fire, which began in a one-story home, was responded to by 26 firefighters from the LAFD.
The team managed to quickly extinguish the flames in approximately 14 minutes, employing both interior fire attacks and rooftop ventilation to, to swiftly respond to the threat. Thankfully, the incident did not result in any injuries, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Nicholas Prange of the LAFD stated that twenty-six firefighters quickly and efficiently handled the situation.
The firefighters on the scene included those from Battalion 1, Central Bureau, and Council District 14, along with supporting squads and units such as RA10, RA4, and RA804. The coordination of various teams like E17, E201, E202, E25, E4, T1, and T2 underscores the quick and strategic response that the LAFD prides itself on.
In statements obtained by the LAFD, firefighters utilized a number of techniques to put a stop swiftly to the burning structure. While the fire was confined to the building in question, the LAFD has not released any information regarding possible damage to neighboring properties or the extent of the damage to the structure involved. Updates on the fire, including the progress of the investigation into its cause, are expected to be announced as they become available.
